How to Burn a DVD on a Mac
Here’s What You Will Need to Burn a DVD or CD on a Mac
Blank CD-R or DVD-R
Macintosh Computer
Blank DVD or CD-R
Step 1:
Load Up the DVD or CD to Burn
Insert a blank DVD-R or CD- R into the slot. A typical DVD holds 4.7GB of information and a typical CD-R holds 700 MB of information.
Step 2:
Create a Burn Folder
Right click or hold down control and click on any empty space on your desktop. Select "New Burn Folder" from the drop down menu.
Step 3:
Go Get Your Files to Burn
Find the files you want to burn and drag them into your new burn folder. No need to worry about losing them. The Mac computer doesn't move them, but just creates an "alias" which points the burn folder to the file you want to burn to CD or DVD.
Step 4:
Now it’s time to Burn it to DVD or CD
Here’s the easy part, just open up your burn folder and click the "Burn" button.
And that’s it. In just a couple of minutes you'll have your data backed up, files to share, or a little less virtual clutter on your hard drive.
